Quetta:The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Balochistan has reported significant casualties and financial losses across several districts due to recent monsoon rains. Since June 7th, a total of 10 lives have been lost and 31 individuals injured in various incidents including roof and wall collapses in different areas affected by the recent downpours.
According to the PDMA’s report, during the monsoon season, 89 houses have been completely destroyed while 170 others have suffered partial damages in different districts of the province. Overall, 1,799 individuals have been affected by the rains, with infrastructure damage including 17 kilometers of roads and 310 acres of agricultural land.
The report further highlights that the situation of dams in Balochistan remains stable despite the impact of the rains. Relief and rehabilitation efforts are actively underway in the affected districts by PDMA and district administrations to assist those affected by the monsoon rains in Balochistan.
