Balochistan:continuous monsoon rains have led to the deaths of 11 individuals, including three children, and left eight others injured. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has released a comprehensive report detailing the damage caused by the ongoing rains.
According to the PDMA, significant damage has been inflicted on infrastructure, with 15 houses completely destroyed and 34 partially damaged. Additionally, 62 acres of agricultural land have been severely affected, and 12 kilometers of roads have been damaged, disrupting transportation and access. The floods have also impacted crucial infrastructure, causing damage to five bridges and resulting in the death of 82 livestock due to lightning strikes and related incidents.
The PDMA has intensified relief operations in the affected areas. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the Balochistan government has declared a state of emergency in the four most severely impacted districts to accelerate aid, rescue, and recovery efforts.
