Quetta:In a recent statement, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Suleman Dawood Jan criticized the PTI government, declaring that it does not permit any group to challenge the state’s writ. Addressing the ongoing issue of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Phase II commencement, Dawood Jan invoked memories of Gwadar protests, cautioning against unrest. He revealed intelligence indicating a plot to orchestrate an explosion in Gwadar. The CM called for dialogue with protestors, stressing the need for government engagement over street demonstrations. Dawood Jan highlighted recent police actions against perpetrators involved in the Maulana Muhammad Sadiq mosque attack and stressed enhanced law enforcement efforts against rising crime due to reduced state revenue. He directed the police to maintain impartiality and prevent interference by assembly members or politicians. Concerning national security, he disclosed intelligence operations targeting security forces, alleging targeted killings based on ethnicity in Balochistan. Dawood Jan reiterated that while the right to protest is constitutional, he emphasized maintaining peace and order through responsible governance.
