Mir Ali Bugti Condemns Excessive Use of Force Against Peaceful Protesters in Quetta

Quetta:Mir Ali Bugti, the grandson of Nawab Akbar Bugti, strongly condemned the excessive use of force by the state against the peaceful protest of the Baloch Unity Committee in Quetta. He expressed outrage over the firing on peaceful women and children, resulting in fatalities and injuries, dragging Baloch mothers and sisters on the streets, desecrating their bodies, and the arrest of Dr. Maherang Baloch, Simi Deen Baloch, and several other activists from the Baloch Unity Committee under false and fabricated charges. He termed these actions as disgraceful, condemnable, and intolerable.

Mir Ali Bugti emphasized the special place of respect and dignity that Baloch women and children hold in Baloch society. He stressed that no conscientious Baloch would tolerate the dishonor, abuse, and forced abduction of their women, dragging them through the streets, stripping them of their dignity, and imprisoning them in jails. He remarked that no such instance of oppression against women had ever occurred in Baloch history.

The Bugti tribal chief further stated that for 77 years, Balochistan has been subjected to ongoing oppression, lawlessness, and injustice. He pointed out that despite Balochistan’s rich mineral resources, the exploitation of Baloch youth continues, which is the root cause of the ongoing injustices. The artificial rulers, he noted, are now struggling to control the situation, as they have lost control over the people.

Mir Ali Bugti criticized the incompetent and inept group imposed on the people of Balochistan, asserting that instead of alleviating the suffering of the Baloch, they are only exacerbating it. He noted that there is no rule of law or constitution in Balochistan, as educated Baloch youth are abducted from their homes and schools, disappearing for years, and when families raise their voices for their loved ones, they are met with violence and suppression.

He made it clear that any restrictions on peaceful political struggles in Balochistan would not be tolerated. Mir Ali Bugti emphasized that when it comes to the abuse of Baloch women, all Baloch people would unite to fight against it.

He called on all political, social, and tribal leaders in Balochistan to abandon their silence and devise a united plan of action. The time has come for a collective struggle for justice, he stated.

In conclusion, Mir Ali Bugti urged the ruling parties, who claim to advocate for democracy, to take immediate action. He demanded the release of Dr. Maherang Baloch, Simi Deen Baloch, and all the detained Baloch Unity Committee workers and to address their demands. Furthermore, he called for the release of all the missing persons in Balochistan.
