Minister of Finance Mir Shoaib Nosherwani Emphasizes Development of Educational Institutions in Balochistan
KHARAN:Mir Shoaib Nosherwani**, the Provincial Minister for Finance and Mineral Resources, stated that the development and promotion of the **University of Balochistan**, including its **Kharan campus** and other educational institutions, are among the government’s top priorities. He emphasized that **education** is the cornerstone for nations to maintain their identity and national standards. He further noted that the youth of **Balochistan** are an invaluable asset, and their **educational and personal development** is a primary responsibility of the government. “We cannot compromise on the bright future of our youth,” he said.
Minister Nosherwani shared these views during a meeting with **Amanat Hasrat** and **Mir Dad Shah Mengal** to discuss the unresolved issues of the **Kharan Campus**. He stated that there was no doubt that **Rakhshan Division** holds significant strategic importance and is rich in natural resources, making it one of the country’s lifelines. However, he pointed out that in the educational sector, it lags behind all other divisions. Notably, there are no major educational institutions like a **medical college** or an **agricultural university** in the entire division.
Mir Shoaib Nosherwani emphasized the importance of enhancing the role and functionality of the **Kharan campus** and its expansion, stressing that it is a necessity for improving education standards in the underdeveloped districts of **Rakhshan Division**. He added that the **Kharan campus**, by offering degrees in **LLB**, **IT**, and **BBA**, provides valuable educational opportunities while promoting high moral and professional standards through research and education.
He also recognized the dedication of both **teaching** and **non-teaching staff** at the **University of Balochistan** and its campuses, stating that despite the ongoing economic crisis, they have consistently upheld the educational system and never allowed it to be disrupted. He remarked, “The importance of teachers in any society cannot be overlooked, and it is essential to improve their living standards by providing them with proper benefits, which is their fundamental right.”
Regarding the financial challenges faced by the university and its campuses, Mir Shoaib Nosherwani assured that the provincial government is committed to finding a long-term and sustainable solution to these issues. He further stated that the university administration, along with the government, must also come up with educational programs to overcome the financial crisis. “Our government’s primary aim is to resolve the financial crisis faced by the university and its campuses, ensuring that the students’ education is not disrupted,” he concluded.
Minister Nosherwani’s statement underlined the government’s commitment to improving the education sector in Balochistan, ensuring that financial difficulties do not impede the academic progress of students and the overall development of educational institutions in the province.
