Meteorological Department Warns of Drought Due to Low Rainfall in Pakistan

Islamabad:The Pakistan Meteorological Department has raised concerns about the possibility of drought in the country due to significantly low rainfall this year. The department reported that rainfall has been 52% below normal across the country, with between September 1, 2024, and January 15, 2025, receiving 40% less precipitation than usual.

According to the Meteorological Department, the continued low rainfall has increased the risk of drought conditions. If rainfall does not resume soon, the situation could worsen, leading to more severe drought conditions across the country.
