Meteorological Department Predicts Rainfall Across Pakistan from March 9 to 16

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted rainfall across various cities of the country starting today, March 9. According to the weather office, a westerly wave will enter the northern areas of the country and will remain active until March 16.

The weather department has predicted rain in Chitral, Murree, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir from March 9 to 16. On March 10, rainfall is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Peshawar, Charsadda, and Mardan. From March 12 to 16, most cities of Punjab are also expected to experience rainfall.

The Meteorological Department has also warned that thunderstorms with rain are likely in parts of Balochistan on March 14 and 15, with the possibility of urban flooding in cities like Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, and others due to the heavy rains.

The department further stated that heavy snowfall in the upper regions of the country could lead to road blockages. Additionally, the department has cautioned that intense rainfall in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan may cause landslides.

It is advised that fishermen, tourists, and travelers remain cautious, and farmers take necessary precautions to protect crops from potential damage caused by the expected weather conditions.
