Meteorological Department Forecasts Rain and Snowfall in Balochistan, PDMA to Provide Relief Packages

QUETTA:The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted rain and snowfall in various parts of Balochistan over the next 24 hours. According to the report, the overall weather in the province will remain cold, with severe cold conditions expected in the northern districts. Light rain and snowfall are anticipated in cities like Quetta, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Pishin, Zhob, and Ziarat.
In high-altitude areas such as Toba Achakzai, Toba Kakri, and Kan Mehtarzai, temperatures have already dropped to as low as minus 4 degrees Celsius, with other mountainous regions expected to see temperatures ranging from minus 8 to 10 degrees Celsius. Life in areas like Chaman and other northern districts has been severely affected due to recent snowfall. According to local residents, only the main connecting roads have been cleared, while most of the roads connecting remote villages have yet to be restored.
In response to the challenges faced by the affected families, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Balochistan has decided to provide Ramadan food packages to the victims in Chaman. This initiative aims to alleviate the hardships of the affected families and provide them with essential aid.
The Meteorological Department and PDMA have urged the public to adopt precautionary measures due to the intense cold. Citizens have been advised to wear warm clothing, avoid unnecessary travel, and exercise caution in areas with heavy snowfall.
