Merit and Public Interest Should Be Prioritized in the Selection of Development Schemes: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti

Quetta: Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, chaired an important meeting regarding the preparation of the Annual Development Program (PSDP) for the upcoming financial year 2025/26. The meeting was attended by administrative secretaries of various departments. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the progress of development projects, budget allocation, and priority sectors.
The Chief Minister directed all departments to align the development schemes with public needs and consider Balochistan’s backwardness. He emphasized the importance of effective strategies to complete ongoing projects within the stipulated time to ensure maximum benefits for the people.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti further instructed all administrative secretaries to ensure transparency in the utilization of the development budget and effective monitoring. He stressed that merit and public interest should be the top priorities in selecting development schemes.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed the Balochistan government’s commitment to providing equal development opportunities across all districts and emphasized that a comprehensive strategy was being implemented in every sector.
He also directed the relevant authorities to adopt modern technological methods in planning new projects under the PSDP to make the development process more efficient and result-oriented.
During the meeting, the secretaries of various departments briefed the Chief Minister on the progress of ongoing development projects in their respective departments and informed him about the challenges they were facing. The Chief Minister instructed immediate measures to resolve the issues and urged the departments to ensure timely completion of the development projects through mutual cooperation.
