Members of National Assembly Demand Salary Increase

Islamabad:Members of the National Assembly have demanded an increase in their salaries. Both the government and opposition parties have united in calling for a salary hike, with the members urging Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to address the issue.

During their meeting with Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, the parliamentarians emphasized the need to implement the recommendations made in the Speaker’s Conference. They expressed concerns that members of provincial assemblies are receiving higher salaries and benefits compared to those of the National Assembly, and therefore, they called for an increase in their own salaries.

Following the government’s approval, a bill for the salary increase will be presented in the National Assembly. Currently, the monthly salary and allowances of an MNA (Member of the National Assembly) amount to 185,000 rupees.
