Meeting Held in Gwadar to Address Issues of Passenger Buses and Fuel Transportation, Strict Decisions Made

Gwadar:An important meeting was held under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner Gwadar, Jawad Ahmed Zehri, at the Deputy Commissioner’s office to address the challenges faced by passengers and the issue of fuel transportation by passenger buses. The meeting was attended by representatives from all political parties, civil society, and various stakeholders, including BNP District President Majid Sehrabi, CC member Khuda Ali, JUI District General Secretary Maulana Muhammad Khair Farooqi, Tehsil General Secretary Hafiz Abdul Karim Abid, PPP Provincial Leader Ijaz Hussain, District President Yousaf Faryadi, Afzal Jan, Information Secretary Imdad Khatri, Gwadar Civil Society President Muhammad Jan Baloch, and General Secretary Muhammad Arif. Members of the Gwadar Press Club also participated.
The meeting strongly condemned the blackmailing or pressure tactics of transporters, making it clear that such practices would not be tolerated. It was decided unanimously that passenger buses would only be allowed to carry passengers, and no permission would be granted for transporting fuel. The meeting also agreed that the bus route permits of transporters would be checked, and the transport companies that take passengers from Gwadar to Karachi would be responsible for providing shuttle services to passengers up to the Lee Market in Karachi.
A key decision was made that no compromises would be allowed regarding the operating hours. Buses must depart from Gwadar and reach Karachi on time, without stopping unnecessarily at any location. The fare for the Gwadar-Karachi route would also be fixed at a reasonable rate.
The participants emphasized that no compromises would be made on public interest, and transporting fuel would not be allowed under any circumstances. Furthermore, the meeting proposed the introduction of a coaster bus service in Gwadar, similar to the one in Pasni, which would be responsible for dropping passengers at Lee Market in Karachi. It was also suggested that transport companies from other cities, including Quetta, be invited to start their bus services to Gwadar.
The district administration and the public were warned not to fall victim to any blackmail or pressure from transporters. Strict legal action would be taken against any transport company that violates the decisions made in the meeting.
