Maulana Fazlur Rehman Urges Peaceful Protests, Condemns Violent Incidents in Islamabad
LAKKI MARWAT:Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman has called for peaceful protests and emphasized that no province should be forced into demonstrations. Speaking to the media in Larkana, the JUI-F chief condemned the recent violent incidents in Islamabad during protests and reaffirmed his party’s commitment to provincial autonomy. He reiterated that the solution to issues should always come through dialogue and peaceful negotiations.
“We have protested across the country, but we have always remained peaceful,” Maulana Fazl stated. “Protests should not be violent, and workers should be shown the path of peaceful struggle.”
Maulana Fazl also clarified that his party, JUI-F, did not encourage the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party to stage protests. He emphasized that negotiations are the best way to resolve issues, including political matters like the release of leaders. “If there is a willingness for dialogue, paths open up. But if anyone forces a protest, the state will take action,” he warned.
The JUI-F chief further stressed the importance of serious negotiations, stating that all political matters should be settled through mutual agreement and consensus. “We are all one nation, and all matters should be resolved through consensus,” he added.
He reiterated his stance that protests should remain peaceful, and the path to resolution lies in dialogue, rather than conflict. Maulana Fazl’s remarks come in the wake of the ongoing political unrest and protests led by PTI, as the country grapples with political divisions and tensions.
