Dir Ismail Khan: Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), has stated that crucial decisions regarding specific seats are pending in court. He emphasized that while the approval of agreements in the U.S. Congress is not of great importance, our diplomatic missions remain weak.
Instead of Operation Resolve strengthening, he suggested sitting together to understand the fundamental causes of terrorism and finding solutions. Speaking to the media, he expressed hope for the Supreme Court to deliver the best possible verdict on seat-specific cases. Responding to a question, he remarked that approval of agreements in the U.S. Congress does not hold much significance as resolutions about other countries continue to be accepted in parliaments worldwide. The United Nations approved a resolution on Gaza, but it has not yielded any tangible results.
This highlights weaknesses in our diplomatic missions. Regarding Operation Resolve, he recalled previous participations in such operations but lamented that affected tribal communities still suffer, questioning whether such operations inadvertently turn our people against us. He traced this series back to the Musharraf era and advocated for dialogue to uncover the root causes of terrorism instead of military operations.
