Maulana Fazlur Rehman Urges Government to Avoid Controversy Over Madrasah Registration Bill, PM Assures Resolution of Concerns
Islamabad: A telephonic conversation took place between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, during which concerns regarding the Madrasah Registration Bill were discussed.
According to JUI spokesperson Aslam Ghori, Maulana Fazlur Rehman informed the Prime Minister about his party’s reservations over the bill. He expressed concerns that the bill could create unnecessary controversy and disrupt the consensus reached on the matter.
In response, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured that all concerns regarding the bill would be addressed and resolved.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman emphasized that the government should avoid making the bill contentious. He reaffirmed his stance, stating that the freedom and autonomy of madrasahs (religious schools) would not be compromised under any circumstances.
