Maulana Fazlur Rehman Apologizes to Saudi Delegation for Disruptions in National Assembly

Islamabad: Maulana Fazlur Rehman, leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), has issued an apology to the Saudi delegation present in the National Assembly gallery, which included Dr. Salah bin Muhammad Al-Budair, the Imam of Masjid Nabawi, for the commotion caused by members of the assembly.
During the session, where Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was delivering a speech on various topics including the quota system, opposition members caused a disruption with loud protests. Following Zardari’s address, Mustafa Kamal offered a rebuttal, after which Maulana Fazlur Rehman took the floor.
In his remarks, Rehman stressed the importance of Pakistan-Saudi relations and the respect for Masjid Nabawi’s Imam. He highlighted that internal disturbances should not overshadow the significance of Saudi Arabia’s friendship, the respect for the holy sites, and the unity of the Muslim community.
Rehman expressed his belief that the presence of the esteemed Saudi delegation would enhance bilateral relations between the two countries. He also called for a joint effort by Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to address global issues affecting the Muslim world, including the situations in Kashmir, Burma, Gaza, and Palestine.
He concluded by offering his apologies for the disruption in the assembly, emphasizing the need for mutual respect and collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in addressing global Muslim concerns.
