Mark Zuckerberg Announces $60-65 Billion Investment in AI Technology for 2025

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has revealed plans to invest a substantial $60 to $65 billion in artificial intelligence (AI) technology this year, underscoring the company’s commitment to gaining a lead in the rapidly evolving AI sector. In a Facebook post, Zuckerberg stated that 2025 will be a crucial year for AI, with Meta’s AI assistant expected to serve over a billion people globally.

Zuckerberg highlighted that the LLaMA 4 large language model, which is set to lead the field, will be the foundation for Meta’s AI assistant on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Currently, LLaMA 3 is being used, but Meta is preparing to introduce LLaMA 4 by the end of 2024.

In addition to the LLaMA advancements, Zuckerberg mentioned that Meta is constructing a massive data center to support its AI initiatives. This $60-65 billion investment plan will expand the AI teams, with further investments expected in the coming years.

Zuckerberg’s announcement comes amidst the launch of the *Stargate Project* by former President Donald Trump, a $500 billion initiative focused on AI infrastructure, including the construction of new AI data centers. Referring to the Stargate Project, Zuckerberg remarked that it represents a monumental shift that will unlock historical diversity and maintain America’s leadership in technology.
