Major Smuggling Attempt Foiled in Karachi, Over 600 Mobile Phones Seized

Karachi:A major smuggling attempt was thwarted near the Mochko checkpoint in Karachi, as police and a sensitive agency conducted a joint operation.

Law enforcement officials recovered **618 high-end mobile phones** hidden in secret compartments of a specially modified **double-cabin vehicle**. Additionally, **40 devices used to activate smuggled non-PTA approved phones** were also seized.

According to SSP Keamari, the vehicle had been **specifically designed** for smuggling purposes. The total value of the seized phones and devices is estimated to exceed **50 million Pakistani Rupees**.

**Two suspects** involved in the smuggling attempt were **taken into custody**, and the recovered items, along with the vehicle, were handed over to **customs authorities** for further investigation.
