“Mahmood Khan Achakzai Calls for Suspension of Parliament if Decisions Are Made Outside It”

Chaman: Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Chairman of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) and leader of the “Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Ain” (Movement for the Protection of the Constitution), openly expressed his views on Pakistan’s parliamentary and constitutional matters during a national jirga (council) organized by his party in Chaman.
In his speech, Achakzai stated that if decisions are to be made outside the parliament, then the assembly should be dissolved. He emphasized that the only solution to running the country effectively is the full implementation of the Constitution in its true spirit.
“All of us are responsible for the current state of Pakistan,” Achakzai said, adding that a case should be registered against Shehbaz Sharif in connection with the November 26 incident and alleged injustice towards Imran Khan’s party.
He also criticized the diminishing significance of the Constitution in Pakistan, asserting that the country could only function properly by following the Constitution’s true intent. Achakzai further mentioned that the decisions of the jirga would be communicated to the government.
As the head of the “Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Ain,” Achakzai stressed the importance of dialogue between Pakistan and Afghanistan to resolve bilateral issues. He suggested that the United Nations Secretary-General convene a conference involving Afghanistan and its neighboring countries to discuss mutual concerns. Achakzai proposed that a treaty be established in which all countries respect each other’s sovereignty and refrain from interfering in internal matters.
He concluded by asserting that the freedom of Pakistan and Afghanistan is intertwined, stating that the Afghan nation has earned its freedom in a way that no foreign power has ever occupied Afghan land. He further pointed out that only Afghanistan and Turkey have never been subjected to foreign aggression throughout history.
