Mahmood Khan Achakzai Announces Full Support for Balochistan National Party’s Protest Demands

Quetta:Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Chairman of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party and leader of the Movement for the Protection of Pakistan’s Constitution, has expressed his full support for the legitimate demands of the Balochistan National Party’s (BNP) protest. He called for the immediate release of political activists, including Maherang and other detainees, and emphasized that running the country without recognizing people’s rights is impossible.

Addressing the gathering, Achakzai stated that the country can only function properly if the Constitution is upheld, and democracy is practiced. He insisted that interference in elections and parliamentary systems should be avoided, and the people’s right to vote should be respected, making the elected parliament the legitimate source of power.

Achakzai stressed the importance of ensuring the complete independence of parliament, judiciary, and media, in line with the provisions outlined in the Constitution. He warned against attempts to run the federation by force, highlighting that people in areas like Sui, who are still deprived of natural resources like gas, have every right to demand their share.

In his speech, Achakzai quoted a famous Persian verse: “Zaban-e-yaar-e-man turki wa man turki nemi-danam, che khush bude agar bude zabanash dar dehan-e-man.” He went on to explain that their struggle is not based on emotions but is a long-term effort that must be carried out with caution and in a respectful manner.

Achakzai reiterated that while Pakistan has been around for 75 years, the Baloch, Pashtun, Sindhi, and Siraiki people have lived on this land for thousands of years. He emphasized that they do not seek to break up Pakistan but will never accept a Pakistan that seeks to enslave them.

He further declared that their movement is not about animosity, but about justice and equal rights for everyone. Achakzai stressed that every citizen, regardless of ethnicity, should have access to the resources and opportunities that belong to them by birthright.

The protest was attended by several senior leaders, including Abdul Qahar Khan Wadan, Provincial President of Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Saeed Khan Kakar, Senior Assistant Secretary of District Quetta, and other party members.
