Quetta:In a press release, the spokesperson for the Nokundi Youth Unity Group has accused foreign employees at the Reko Diq project of creating a lobby under the patronage of outsiders, which is allegedly intended to marginalize local people. The statement claims that an individual named Naveed, who previously worked in the safety department, has used flattery to become the lead of the maintenance department and is misleading the department manager about local residents. The spokesperson also noted that Naveed is attempting to place his own people in a newly announced maintenance lead position.
The group expressed concern that if this behavior continues, the lack of local representation in the camp will worsen the situation. They accused the project management of using various tactics to suppress local people and warned that if the situation does not improve, they will respond accordingly. They criticized the B&B SKB and Enigma projects for hiring only outsiders, questioning why local talent is being overlooked.
The press release further alleged that the company is emulating the practices of the Sinehk project, leading to disappointment among educated local youth. Claims were made that local businesses are being bypassed under the pretext of pricing and that money is being extorted under the guise of certifications, with the Sindhi lobby allegedly leading these activities. The group condemned Wajedo, described as an extremely corrupt organization, for collecting millions of rupees under false pretenses. The spokesperson urged the management to rectify their approach or face consequences for mismanagement.
