Lahore:The United Naan Bakers Association has retracted its offer to sell roti at 15 rupees, citing rising costs of flour. The association has submitted a request to the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore for an increase in roti prices.
Naan bakers have pointed out that the cost of a 20-kilogram flour sack has risen by 250 rupees, prompting them to seek permission to sell roti for 20 rupees. Aftab Aslam Gill, President of the United Naan Bakers Association, stated that the significant increase in flour prices makes it unfeasible to continue selling roti at 14 or 15 rupees. He has urged the government to set the new price of roti at 20 rupees.
Gill mentioned that the association will wait for a few days for a governmental decision before implementing their own price changes.
