Lahore Struggles to Control Prices of Chicken, Mutton, and Beef

The government has been unable to control the rising prices of chicken, mutton, and beef in Lahore. According to reports, the official rate of live chicken in the city is set at 383 rupees per kilogram, but it is being sold for 515 rupees per kilogram in the market. Similarly, the official price of chicken meat is 595 rupees per kilogram, but it is being sold for 760 rupees per kilogram.

On the other hand, the official rate of mutton is 1,600 rupees per kilogram, while it is being sold for 2,600 rupees per kilogram, which is 1,000 rupees higher than the official price. The ongoing price disparity continues to put a strain on consumers, with no immediate solution in sight.
