Lahore: Pakistan’s Captain Mohammad Rizwan Speaks After Loss to New Zealand

After Pakistan’s defeat to New Zealand in the opening match of the Tri-Nation Series, team captain Mohammad Rizwan reflected on the loss, calling it a difficult day.
Speaking in Lahore following the match, Rizwan acknowledged the challenge of losing, saying, “When you lose, it’s always a tough day.” He mentioned that the pitch was slightly difficult in the beginning, but praised the performances of New Zealand’s Kane Williamson and Mitchell, while also emphasizing how Glenn Phillips’ batting made a significant impact.
New Zealand’s captain, Mitchell Santner, commented that they were targeting a total of 280-300 runs at one point, but Phillips’ remarkable batting shifted the momentum in their favor. He also noted that the team was now focused on the upcoming matches in Karachi.
It’s worth mentioning that New Zealand defeated the host nation, Pakistan, by 78 runs in the first match of the Tri-Nation Series held yesterday.
