Lahore High Court Rules on Women’s March Permission, Dismisses Contempt of Court Petition

Lahore:The Lahore High Court held a hearing on a contempt of court petition filed against the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore for denying permission for the Women’s March. Justice Anwar Hussain heard the petitions filed by various individuals, including Lena Ghani.
During the hearing, it was revealed that the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore had granted permission for the Women’s March. A government lawyer presented a letter regarding the security arrangements for the event, stating that participants in the march, scheduled for February 12, would be provided with foolproof security.
Following this update, the court dismissed the petition, as permission for the march had been granted. It is important to note that on January 30, Justice Anwar Hussain had issued a notice regarding non-compliance with the court’s orders concerning the Women’s March, directing the Deputy Commissioner, Syed Musa Raza, to submit a report.
