Lahore and Multan Lift Restrictions on Public Places and Restaurant Hours
DG Environment Dr. Imran Hameed Shaikh Issues Notification
Lahore: Restrictions on operating hours for shops, markets, shopping malls, hotels, restaurants, and food outlets in Lahore and Multan have been lifted. The notification was issued by Dr. Imran Hameed Shaikh, Director General of Environment.
According to the notification, the restrictions on business hours were lifted in light of improvements in the recent Air Quality Index. The decision is in accordance with the Punjab Environmental Protection Act, 1997.
As per the new directive, businesses in both cities, including shops, shopping malls, hotels, restaurants, and food outlets, can now operate without any specified hours and remain open as usual.
The order will take immediate effect, and all relevant departments have been informed. It should be noted that these restrictions were initially imposed due to the rise in smog levels in the region.
