KP Government to Treat Invaders as Terrorists Following Kurram Peace Agreement
Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced that, in the wake of the Kurram Peace Agreement, any group attempting to carry out military incursions in the region will be considered as terrorists and appropriate action will be taken against them.
In a statement regarding the peace agreement, Provincial Information Adviser Barrister Syed revealed that travel and security arrangements are being made for the convoys scheduled for Saturday. He further stated that, as per the Apex Committee’s decision, the area will be cleared of weapons and bunkers.
He explained that, under the terms of the agreement, both parties will submit a coordinated plan for disarmament within 15 days. Additionally, a ban will be imposed on the public display and use of weapons, and fundraising for weapon purchases will not be allowed.
Barrister Syed also emphasized that the construction of any new bunkers will be prohibited, and existing bunkers in the area will be dismantled within one month. He made it clear that after the demolition of the bunkers, any group attempting to engage in military operations would be regarded as terrorists, and strict measures would be taken against them.
