Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Spokesperson Says Talks Will Only Happen with Serious Government Action
Islamabad:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesperson, Barrister Saif, has stated that any potential talks with the federal government will depend on the government’s seriousness in addressing key issues. Speaking on Geo News’ *Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath*, Barrister Saif emphasized that if progress is made in the coming days, the talks would likely involve a figure with connections to the establishment, such as Mohsin Naqvi or another influential personality.
He stated that the provincial government is willing to consider withdrawing its call for protests, but only if the federal government demonstrates a genuine commitment to resolving outstanding issues. “We will consider withdrawing the protest call if we see that the government is serious about taking action,” he said.
Barrister Saif outlined a number of conditions for the government to meet before any serious negotiations could take place, including the cancellation of cases against their leadership, an audit of the electoral process, and the repeal of the 26th Amendment. He stressed that if the government takes these steps, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government would be willing to engage in dialogue, signaling a potential path forward in the current political standoff.
