Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Refers May 9 Incident Investigation to Peshawar High Court
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has referred the matter of investigating the events of May 9 to the Peshawar High Court. According to Law Minister Aftab Alam, the provincial government has written a letter to the Chief Justice of the High Court, requesting the formation of a judicial commission.
The Law Minister mentioned that the Chief Justice will nominate a judge for the judicial commission, although a response from the Chief Justice is still awaited. It is noteworthy that the KP Cabinet had previously approved the formation of the judicial commission, which will operate under the leadership of a High Court judge.
This move underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring a thorough and impartial investigation into the incidents of May 9.
