Khyber Pakhtunkhwa:The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided not to pursue the new Toshakhana case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi.
Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Anti-Corruption, Mushtaq Abbasi, stated that the new Toshakhana case, similar to the nikah case, was baseless. He criticized the separation of similar cases and alleged that PTI founders are being jailed while cases are handled separately.
Abbasi highlighted that in the Toshakhana case, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were arrested on charges related to non-receipt of gifts through Toshakhana. It was also alleged that the valuation of gifts was understated, and records were manipulated.
Previously, both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi had been convicted in the Toshakhana case by a trial court, which was later overturned by another court, acquitting them both.
Recently, the Additional Sessions Court in Islamabad had suspended the sentences imposed on Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the nikah case, ultimately acquitting them.
