Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM Ali Amin Gandapur Writes Letter to President Asif Zardari Over NFC Award Issue

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has written a letter to President of Pakistan Asif Zardari, expressing concerns over the lack of representation for the newly merged tribal districts in the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award.

In his letter, Ali Amin Gandapur highlighted that after the merger of the former tribal areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2018, the province’s population increased by 5.7 million. However, he pointed out that the additional population has not been accounted for in the NFC Award.

Gandapur further emphasized that the share of the former FATA (Federally Administered Tribal Areas) is still being allocated to the federal government, which he considers unconstitutional. He urged that the 10th NFC meeting be convened soon to address the matter of financial resource distribution.
