Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM Ali Amin Gandapur Writes Letter to PM Over Unwarranted Arrests of Innocent Pashtuns in Islamabad

Islamabad:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has written a letter to Prime Minister of Pakistan, expressing concerns over the unwarranted arrests of innocent Pashtuns in Islamabad. The CM raised alarms about the ongoing actions being taken against Pashtuns in the capital, which he claimed were against the principles of justice.

In his letter, Gandapur said, “I am deeply concerned about the arbitrary arrests of innocent Pashtuns in Islamabad. These actions are in violation of the principles of justice and fairness. If such measures are continued, they could have long-term negative consequences on the country.” He also warned that any attempt to incite hatred in such a sensitive situation could harm national unity and stability.

Earlier, former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser also spoke out on the issue, calling Islamabad a “no-go area” for Pashtuns. He criticized the Islamabad Police for allegedly checking identity cards and arresting Pashtuns based solely on their ethnicity. “This is a very dangerous act,” he said, condemning the discriminatory practices targeting the Pashtun community.

**Islamabad Police Responds**
In response to the accusations, the Islamabad Police issued a statement denying any unlawful actions against peaceful Pashtuns. The police clarified that no innocent Pashtun had been detained and that Pashtuns are deeply respected as brothers and key protectors of the nation.

The Islamabad Police took to social media platform X to address the concerns, saying, “During the recent law and order situation, no peaceful Pashtun was detained. We have not taken any legal action based on ethnicity or region. Only action has been taken against miscreants involved in disturbing public peace.”

In their statement, the police further condemned the negative propaganda being spread, calling it a conspiracy against national integrity. They emphasized that the security forces remain committed to upholding the law while safeguarding the rights of every citizen, regardless of their ethnic background.

This exchange of statements highlights the growing tension surrounding the issue and reflects broader concerns about the treatment of Pashtun communities in the country.
