Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM Ali Amin Gandapur Opposes Military Operations in the Province

Peshawar:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has firmly stated that the provincial government will not allow any military operations in the region.

In a statement, Gandapur expressed strong opposition to the idea of operations within the province, asserting that no operations would be permitted under any circumstances. He pointed out that while terrorists are being killed, a significant number of militants are continuously entering from Afghanistan.

Gandapur further estimated that nearly 9,500 to 11,500 militants have already entered the area, while approximately 22,000 militants remain across the border. He emphasized that with the support of the people and a clear intention, these threats could be effectively managed.

Regarding the National Security Committee’s recent meeting, Gandapur criticized it as more of a presentation than a productive discussion. He remarked that if presentations and declarations could end terrorism, it would have been eradicated by now.

The Chief Minister also noted that the National Security Committee’s meeting did not address the issue of PTI’s founder, Imran Khan, and suggested that for progress, Khan’s release is essential.
