Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Set to Approve Bill for Dismissing Employees Hired During Caretaker Government

PESHAWAR:The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly is expected to approve a bill today that will dismiss government employees hired during the caretaker government period.*
The bill, titled *Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Employees (Dismissal from Services) Bill 2025*, will be presented for approval in a session scheduled for 2:00 PM. According to the bill, government employees hired between January 22, 2023, and February 29, 2024, under the caretaker government will be terminated from their positions.
However, appointments made through the Public Service Commission, including those under the provincial and minority quotas, will be exempt from the provisions of this bill.
To overcome potential obstacles in dismissing these employees, a 7-member committee will be formed, led by the Secretary of the Establishment Division. All relevant departments will be required to submit a report within 30 days regarding the appointments made during the caretaker period.
The bill was previously introduced in the assembly last Friday.
