Islamabad: Khawar Maneka has filed an appeal in the Islamabad High Court against the acquittal of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the ‘Iddat’ case. In the petition, Bushra Bibi and Imran Khan have been made respondents, requesting the court to declare them liable.
The appeal argues that the decision on July 13 to acquit them cannot stand under the law and seeks to reinstate the judicial magistrate’s February 3 verdict. Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka had acquitted Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, overturning the earlier seven-year sentence imposed on them by the court.
