Kashif Mahmood Opens Up About Struggles and Triumphs in His Acting Career

Islamabad:Renowned actor Kashif Mahmood, known for his versatile acting skills, has revealed the challenges he faced on his journey to success in the entertainment industry. In a recent appearance on the television show *Mazaq Raat*, Kashif shared how he spent years taking on minor roles and faced severe financial difficulties before finally achieving recognition.

Kashif Mahmood’s career wasn’t built overnight. He recounted how, even after starring in a hit drama, a TV channel refused to pay him his due compensation. Despite facing severe financial struggles, Kashif never gave up. He continued his journey, and today, his hard work and dedication have earned him a respected position in the industry.

The actor shared that for seven years, he was cast in extra roles and never even got the chance to play a supporting role, let alone a lead. He recalled his first success in the industry when he appeared in a drama on PTV alongside actress Resham. However, his role was minimal, with no dialogue, and the camera only showed his back while he listened to Resham’s character. “In that shot, my face wasn’t visible, and I had to tell my friends and family, ‘Look, the guy standing with Resham is me,'” Kashif said, laughing.

Reflecting on those early days, Kashif remarked, “I told my friends that though you only see my back now, one day I will turn around, and I will make a name for myself.” His words came true as his hard work and perseverance eventually led him to success. His breakthrough came when he decided to turn his career around and never looked back, becoming a prominent actor whose face became synonymous with great performances.

Kashif Mahmood also shared the story of his popular drama *Aashiyana*, where he faced dire financial circumstances while making the show. He revealed that at the time, he didn’t even have enough money for petrol to fill his motorcycle, and the budget for his proposed drama was around 22 to 23 lakh rupees. “I remember I had to gather one lakh rupees to make the first episode of the drama, and to do so, I had to sell my mother’s jewelry and even mortgage my house,” he confessed.

Despite these hurdles, Kashif’s passion for the project didn’t waver. He took the tape of the drama to a TV channel, where a person who had heard about the project simply dismissed it by saying, “So what?” However, that person forwarded the tape to veteran actor Badar Khalil, who took a week to watch it but eventually praised the drama and helped Kashif complete the rest of the episodes.

The drama was a massive success, but as fate would have it, the channel shut down shortly afterward. Even though the show was later aired on PTV, Kashif never received his payment from the channel. However, the success of *Aashiyana* eventually brought him a substantial profit, which allowed him to pay off his debts and continue working on new projects.

Kashif Mahmood’s journey from humble beginnings to success is a testament to his determination and passion for his craft. His story serves as an inspiration to aspiring actors, showing that with hard work and perseverance, success is attainable even in the face of adversity.
