Karachi:In preparation for the processions during the 8th, 9th, and 10th of Muharram, Karachi Traffic Police have devised alternative routes to manage traffic effectively. The main procession, starting from Nishtar Park and concluding at Hussainia Iranian Kharadar via traditional routes, will necessitate significant traffic diversions.
According to Karachi Traffic Police, no traffic will be allowed beyond Groom Mandir Chowk towards the procession route, redirecting traffic towards Bahadur Yar Jang Road and Soldier Bazaar. During the procession, all types of vehicles will be prohibited from entering MA Jinnah Road, except those with special permits.
Furthermore, vehicles with stickers indicating participation in the procession can enter Shahrah-e-Quaideen and Society Light Signal. Due to security concerns, MA Jinnah Road will be closed from Groom Mandir to Tower during the event.
As per the alternative traffic plan, individuals coming from Nazimabad can proceed to their destinations via Lasbela Chowk to Nishtar Road and Garden, while those traveling from Hasan Square can use Kashmir Road towards Shahrah-e-Quaideen and Jail Flyover to Nishtar Road. Additionally, commuters from Shara-e-Faisal can head towards Kashmir Road from Society Signal, and from Jamshed Road to MA Jinnah Road towards Soldier Bazaar. From Garden, routes are open to MA Jinnah Road via Gul Plaza and Coast Guard Road.
Karachi Traffic Police emphasized that no vehicles will be allowed to stand along the procession route during this period.
