Karachi Traffic Disruptions Due to Protests Over Parachinar Incident: Alternate Routes Announced

Karachi:Protests over the recent incident in Parachinar have led to widespread traffic disruptions across various locations in Karachi. As a result, several major roads have been blocked, and the Traffic Police Department has issued an alternate route plan to help commuters navigate the city.

According to the Traffic Police spokesperson:

– **M.A. Jinnah Road** near **Numaish Chowrangi** is closed for traffic. Vehicles are being diverted via **45 Congress** to **Peoples Chowrangi**, **Guru Mandir**, and **Soldier Bazaar**.
– From the **Society Signal**, traffic is being rerouted towards **Corridor 3**, **Braitto Road**, and diverted towards **Soldier Bazaar** and **Guru Mandir**.
– **Abu Al-Hasan Isfahani Road** near **Super Highway** and **Abbass Town** is blocked in both directions. Traffic is being directed from **Paradise Bakery** to **Fariya Chowk** and into the inner streets. The **Rangers Cut** is redirecting traffic towards the **Service Road** near **Punjab Adda**.
– **Five Star Chowrangi** is completely closed, but traffic is being diverted to the **Service Road** for smoother flow.
– **University Road**, near the **Metro Shopping Center** and **Semma** (near **NEPA**), is blocked, with vehicles diverted to inner lanes.
– **Main Shahrah-e-Faisal**, towards **Kala Chapra** and **Malir Road**, is also blocked. Traffic from the city heading towards the airport is being diverted via **Karsaz**, **Drug Road**, **Millennium**, **Johar Chowrangi**, and **Pehluwan Goth**.
– For passengers traveling from **Malir**, **Korangi Industrial Area**, and **Clifton/Defence** towards the airport, it is advised to use the **Singer Chowrangi** to **Shah Faisal Colony** and **Reta Plot Road**.
– **Shama Shopping Center** to **Shah Faisal Colony Bridge** can be used to access the airport.
– **National Highway** towards **Malir 15 Bridge** (both up and down ramps) is blocked. Traffic is being diverted from **Malir Halt** to **Model Colony**, **Manzil Pump**, and **Younus Chowrangi**.
– **Shamsuddin Azimi Road** near **KDA Flats** and **Surjani Road** is closed for traffic, with vehicles being diverted to the **Total Petrol Pump** and **Service Road**.
– **Ancholi Road** near **Shahrah Pakistan** (Soharab Goth) is blocked, with traffic being diverted via **Water Pump Chowrangi** to **Cardio Hospital** and **Gulberg Chowrangi**.
– **Kamran Chowrangi** is completely blocked in all directions. Traffic is being diverted via **Mausamiyat**, **University Road**, and **Manwar Chowrangi** towards inner areas.
– **Nawab Siddique Ali Khan Road** near **Nazimabad No. 1** and **Nazimabad No. 2** is blocked. Traffic is being redirected to **Lisbella** and towards **Teen Hatti**.
– **Main National Highway** near **Township** is closed in both directions. Traffic from **Thatta** is being redirected to **Link Road**, and **Port Qasim** bound traffic is diverted towards **Port Qasim Chowrangi**.
– **Power House Chowrangi** near **Nagan** on **Fazal Elahi Road** is also blocked. Traffic is being rerouted via **Power House Chowrangi** to the **Shell Pump Cut** and **Service Road**.

Commuters are urged to follow the alternative routes suggested by the Traffic Police to avoid delays and congestion. The protests, which stemmed from the recent tragic event in Parachinar, have significantly disrupted the flow of traffic in Karachi’s busiest areas.
