Karachi: Port Trust Reclaims 7 Acres of Land Along the Seafront

Karachi:The Port Trust has successfully reclaimed 7 acres of land along the seafront, which had been illegally occupied.

According to a statement from the Karachi Port Trust (KPT), the operation was carried out in the Younusabad area, where illegal constructions on the 7 acres were demolished. The KPT also revealed that within just 15 days, a total of 80 acres of land worth approximately 60 billion rupees had been retrieved.

On the other hand, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee, Qadir Patel, expressed his concerns, stating that operations against the fishermen’s old settlements were not appropriate. He strongly opposed the displacement of people from their homes.
