Karachi Police Officer Caught in Viral Video Using Drugs with Addicts

Karachi :A video of a Karachi police officer allegedly using drugs with addicts has gone viral on social media, prompting both departmental and legal action against him.
The incident took place in the Orangi Town area near Urdu Chowk, where a passerby recorded footage of a man in police uniform. To conceal his uniform, the officer wore a striped shirt over it. When the citizen confronted him, the officer quickly fled the scene.
The citizen expressed concern, stating, “How can drug sales be stopped if police officers themselves are using drugs? You carry a weapon; what happens if someone tries to take it from you?”
When contacted, SHO Shahbaz of Mominabad confirmed that the officer in the video, identified as Iqbal, had been taken into custody. He stated that the officer is assigned to the Khwaja Ajmer Nagri Police Headquarters, and an internal and legal investigation is underway.
