Kane Williamson Becomes First New Zealand Batter to Score 9,000 Test Runs
Islamabad:New Zealand’s star batter, Kane Williamson, has achieved a significant milestone in Test cricket, becoming the first player from his country to score 9,000 runs in the format.
Williamson reached this historic feat on the third day of the first Test between New Zealand and England, which is being played in Christchurch. During his innings, he crossed the 9,000-run mark, accumulating a total of 9,035 runs in 182 Test innings. This includes 32 centuries and 37 half-centuries.
The 33-year-old has now joined an elite list of players to score 9,000 or more runs in Test cricket, becoming the 19th player in history to do so.
In the ongoing Test match, New Zealand scored 348 runs in their first innings, while England responded with 499 runs. At the end of Day 3, New Zealand was 4 runs ahead in their second innings, with 155 runs on the board for the loss of 6 wickets.
This achievement further cements Kane Williamson’s legacy as one of New Zealand’s greatest cricketers and one of the most consistent Test batters in the world.
