Islamabad: Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri of the High Court has reportedly received suspicious calls and messages. According to court sources, the caller, who identified himself as a Deputy Director of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), called on a suspected number associated with the High Court office, but investigations revealed no such call was made by the FIA. The caller was attempting to contact Justice Tariq Jahangiri directly.
According to judicial sources, the suspicious call was made to Justice Tariq Jahangiri’s office at the Islamabad High Court two days ago. Messages were also sent to Justice Jahangiri’s mobile number from the same suspicious number.
Justice Tariq Jahangiri has instructed the registrar to immediately report to the FIA regarding the mobile number in question.
It is notable that Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri is also a judge of the Election Tribunal and is currently hearing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s petitions for disqualification against League members who won three seats in the National Assembly from Islamabad.
