Justice (R) Mazhar Alam Mehmood, Retired, Expresses Consent for Appointment as Adhoc Judge in Supreme Court
Islamabad: Justice (Retired) Mazhar Alam Mehmood has expressed his consent for appointment as an adhoc judge in the Supreme Court. According to sources, the Judicial Commission had recommended Justice (Retired) Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice (Retired) Mazhar Alam Mehmood for adhoc judgeship for a period of one year. Initially, Justice (R) Mazhar Alam Mehmood had shown consent but later apologized.
Subsequently, the Judicial Commission decided to seek Justice (R) Mazhar Alam Mehmood’s opinion again in a meeting. It is noteworthy that President of the country, Asif Ali Zardari, has already approved the appointments of both adhoc judges to the Supreme Court.
