Islamabad:Hafiz Hamdullah, a central leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), has responded to the initiation of court martial proceedings against General (R) Faiz Hameed by the Pakistan Army. He remarked, “Until yesterday, people were benefiting from Faiz, but today they are left with no benefit.”
The Pakistan Army has commenced court martial proceedings against General (R) Faiz Hameed, following the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s directives. According to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a detailed court of inquiry was conducted to address complaints related to the Top City case involving Hameed. Consequently, appropriate disciplinary action under the Pakistan Army Act has been initiated.
In his statement, Hafiz Hamdullah commented, “Until yesterday, people were reaping benefits from Faiz, but now they are left with nothing. This is the parrot whose life was intertwined with many others.”
Hamdullah added that he will be observing the developments closely, noting Hameed’s extensive history of involvement in domestic politics.
