Dera Ismail Khan: Maulana Fazlur Rehman, head of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), has partially accepted the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the distribution of specific seats. Speaking to the media in Dera Ismail Khan, Fazlur Rehman stated that they partially accept the Supreme Court’s decision on the allocation of specific seats. He further remarked that while the final opinion on the Supreme Court’s decision can only be given by constitutional and legal experts, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam would not file an appeal as an organization regarding the decision.
He emphasized that individuals within Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam who are directly affected by the decision are free to file individual appeals, and they would not prevent them from exercising this right. It should be noted that the Supreme Court of Pakistan, in a preserved decision, declared the Election Commission and Peshawar High Court decisions null and void, thereby granting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf the right to reserved seats in national and provincial assemblies.
