JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman Calls for Resignation of Government and New Elections

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman has once again labeled the upcoming elections on February 8 as rigged and demanded that the government resign and announce fresh elections.

Speaking to the media after attending a dinner at PTI leader Asad Qaiser’s residence, Maulana Fazlur Rehman stated that the constitutional term of the Chief Election Commissioner had ended, and consultations should be held regarding this matter.

He reiterated his stance that the 2018 general elections were marred by rigging and emphasized that the government should step down and announce new elections to restore public confidence.

Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi also joined the call, asserting that all political parties have agreed on the view that the current government does not represent the people and that new elections should be held in the country.

The dinner gathering included leaders such as Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Umar Ayub, Junaid Akbar, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Allama Nasir Abbas, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, and other political figures.
