Islamabad: In a meeting of the Judicial Commission, Justice Aminuddin Khan has been appointed as the head of the Constitutional Benches. The meeting was chaired by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Yahya Afridi, and saw a decision made by a majority of 7 members in favor of Justice Khan’s appointment.
The meeting was attended by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Munib Akhtar, Justice Aminuddin Khan, Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, and Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan. Representatives of the Pakistan Bar Council, including Advocate Akhtar Hussain, Farooq H. Naik, Sheikh Aftab Ahmad, Omar Ayub, and female member Roshan Khurshid Brocha, were also present.
The session focused on the formation of Constitutional Benches in the Supreme Court and discussed the establishment of a Secretariat for the Judicial Commission. The decision to appoint Justice Aminuddin Khan as the head of the Constitutional Benches was taken by a majority vote of the members present at the meeting.
