JI Balochistan’s MPA Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Criticizes Government’s Failure to Address Unrest, Unemployment, and Corruption

Quetta:Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman, the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Balochistan and Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA), has strongly criticized the provincial government for its failure to address growing issues of law and order, inflation, and unemployment in the region. He pointed out that these crises are a result of the government’s inability to grant rights, address the issue of enforced disappearances, and misuse of power in Balochistan.
While addressing a gathering in Gwadar and during meetings with delegations, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman highlighted that an overwhelming 85 billion rupees allocated for public security were being spent on the protection of security institutions rather than the safety of the public. He emphasized that enforced disappearances have led to frequent blockades of highways, and the government is only imposing Section 144 without taking real action to protect citizens and their property. He expressed concern that the government and security forces are focused only on their own protection, while the public continues to suffer.
He also mentioned the widespread unemployment among the youth, the lack of merit, and the absence of justice in the hiring process. Despite passing interviews and exams, many young people remain without jobs, leading to frustration and despair. He accused the government of fostering a culture of bribery and favoritism, which has left the youth, traders, and the public with no one to turn to for justice or support.
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman condemned the artificial price hikes during the month of Ramadan and criticized hoarding, price manipulation, and the adulteration of goods. He called on those involved in such practices to remember the consequences of earning illicit wealth in the Hereafter. He emphasized that such actions lead to a lack of blessings in wealth and peace of mind.
The JI leader vowed that his party would continue its struggle for justice, opposing oppression and exploitation. He asserted that Jamaat-e-Islami is working towards establishing justice, peace, development, and providing employment. He urged the ruling authorities and influential powers to work with sincerity and integrity to end corruption, looting, and destruction of public resources.
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman also criticized the government’s ineffective policies, stating that security forces are more concerned with their own protection than ensuring the safety of citizens. He argued that the government’s failure to address these issues has left everyone vulnerable, with neither cities, highways, villages, nor businesses being safe in Balochistan.
He concluded by urging the government, administration, and institutions to avoid making further mistakes that will only add to the people’s hardships. Instead, he called for practical actions to address the issues of enforced disappearances, poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, and corruption, with long-term decisions that would have a positive impact on the entire nation. He reaffirmed that Jamaat-e-Islami stands with the youth and the people in the fight for justice and equality.
