Jason Gillespie: “Improved System Can Propel Pakistan Cricket to Success”

Australia: Former Pakistan head coach Jason Gillespie believes that with an improved system, no one can stop Pakistan cricket from reaching its full potential. Speaking in an interview with Australian media after his resignation, Gillespie emphasized that Pakistan has no shortage of talent, and if properly harnessed, it could form a top-tier team.
Gillespie pointed out that despite the positive progress made during his tenure with the Pakistan national team, his role was limited to match days, and he had no involvement in the team selection process. He expressed frustration over the lack of communication regarding key decisions, particularly the dismissal of fitness coach Tim Nielsen.
“I was not consulted at all regarding the decision to remove Tim Nielsen,” said Gillespie. “It was unacceptable that the PCB did not inform me about this decision, especially when the team and coaching staff were showing positive results.”
Despite these challenges, Gillespie remains optimistic about Pakistan’s cricketing future, asserting that with the right system in place, the team has the potential to achieve great things.
