Jamaat-e-Islami to Hold Nationwide Protests Against Government’s Non-Implementation of Rawalpindi Agreement

Islamabad: In response to the government’s failure to implement the Rawalpindi Agreement, Jamaat-e-Islami, led by Amir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, has called for nationwide protests and sit-ins on Sunday, September 29. Demonstrations and rallies will take place across the country.

According to a statement from the party’s Secretary Information, Qaiser Sharif, Jamaat-e-Islami will also hold a symbolic funeral prayer for Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrullah Shaheed across the nation.

Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman will address a sit-in in Karachi, where protests are planned at 12 different locations. In Islamabad, Deputy Amir Mian Aslam will speak at the protest, while other key leaders including Liaqat Baloch, Secretary General Amir-ul-Azeem, and provincial Amir for Central Punjab, Javed Kasuri, will address gatherings in Lahore at Beekhwal Mor.

Dr. Tariq Saleem, Amir of Northern Punjab, will speak at a protest in Gujrat, and Rauf Zafar will address the sit-in at Ghanta Ghar Chowk in Multan. In Sindh, Amir Muhammad Hussain Mehnati will address participants in Umar Kot, while provincial secretary Kashif Saeed Sheikh will speak at the rally in Larkana.

Protests will also be organized on major roads in Hyderabad, Ghotki, Nawabshah, Thatta, Kandhkot, Sakrand, and Badin. Other cities in Punjab, including Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Sheikhupura, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Tunza, will also witness sit-ins.

In Balochistan’s capital, Quetta, Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Abdul Haq Hashmi will address the rally, while MPA Maulana Hidayat Rehman will speak in Gwadar. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Professor Muhammad Ibrahim will address a large gathering in Bannu, while the provincial secretary will lead protests in Mardan. Peshawar will host a significant sit-in at Hashtnagri, featuring speeches from party leaders.

These coordinated actions reflect Jamaat-e-Islami’s determination to highlight grievances regarding the government’s policies and to demand accountability.
