Islamabad: Federal Information Minister Ata Tarar has acknowledged the 10 demands presented by the Jamaat-e-Islami delegation, expressing agreement with their proposals. He emphasized the government’s commitment to ongoing relief efforts for the public, highlighting continuous day and night operations.
Following discussions with the Jamaat-e-Islami delegation, accompanied by Engineers Amir Maqam and Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Minister Tarar praised the constructive and cordial atmosphere of the talks. He noted that the majority of the demands focus on electricity-related issues.
Minister Tarar affirmed the government’s alignment with the delegation’s concerns, emphasizing the immediate release of 35 Jamaat-e-Islami members upon government orders. He also mentioned ongoing efforts to streamline expenditures.
“The digitization of the FBR and economic reforms will enhance fiscal capacity through tax reforms, ensuring relief reaches the masses,” Tarar stated. He assured that any reduction in international oil prices would directly benefit the public, with the government committed to improving conditions through all possible means.
“A technical committee has been formed, comprising representatives from the Ministry of Water and Power, Energy Secretary, FBR, and Treasury,” Tarar announced.
“We aim to commence the next session positively tomorrow and resolve matters amicably,” Engineer Amir Maqam added, emphasizing efforts to steer the country forward.
The technical committee is scheduled to engage with Jamaat-e-Islami tomorrow to further dialogue and work towards national progress.
